welcome to ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) cashier! the game is set in long beach, a small, touristy costal town in washington known for its, you guessed it, long beach – as well as community spirit. the town has a population of little over 1200 and over half the households consist of non-families. within this everyone-knows-everyone town lies morrison and sons, a grocery store that has been in the morrison family for over 30 years. this store is where the heart of the game lies. each character will either be an employee of the store or very closely connected to an employee – for example, a family member, partner, or owning/being employed in one of the businesses next door (such as reel big video). this, along with the small town setting, gives the game a close-knit feel where the characters will all be interconnected and therefore coming up with plot will be both easy and fun.
the current trend in RP at the moment, as we all known, is flavor-of-the-week games. games that fill the pages of ~pbads but never make it past first ads – or worse, never even make it to first ads. the mods have absolutely no intention of letting that happen to cashier. yes, you've heard it all before, but we felt it needed to be said - because we really mean it. we promise to put in the utmost of efforts into keeping this game alive, from monthly community-wide threads to town events.

- all holds last for 48 hours, one 24 hour extension will be granted if needed.
- anonymous holds will last for one hour before being deleted - you must come back with a journal name within this hour.
- when placing your hold please tell us if your character will be an employee at the store (and if so, what position) and if you want to hold a morrison then that must be stated, too.
- no 'originals', please - your PB should be someone in the public eye. being internet famous ('scene queens' etc) does not count!
- there will be a maximum of one challenge per face and position. pending applications cannot be challenged.
- the current character limit is three, more on a case-by-case basis with mod approval.
- adds are every friday and monday @ 5pm EST!

name:
position/connection: your character's position at the store, or the character they are connected to (and how they are connected to them).
pb:
journal & aim: must both pertain to your character's name in some way.
age & dob:
shift roster: only for store employees - a quick summary of the days and hours your character works. full time employees work 37 hours a week, part time employees work a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 20 hours a week. an example of a roster would be: mon 7-3, tue 7-3, wed off, thur off, fri 12-8, sat 10-4, sun 11-4. characters have the same days/hours each week unless they request time off/a shift swap.
link to 7 quick facts: these don't have to be long, a sentence is fine (although if you want to write more, feel free - you can also provide a traditional bio if you'd prefer). make sure they give a general feel for your character - i.e. don't include ten random facts and nothing about their personality/past. please include any major life events. we don't want to accept a regular sounding character only to find out in-game that they've had a melodramatic, ridiculously emo past!
examples: at least 2 threading/scene and 1 journal, please. make sure you give us your best as applications are heavily weighted on examples due to the fact that you don't need a bio to apply. use the dropbox if you prefer.
